Oil on canvas paper
12” x 16”
Color study done focusing on complementary colors.
First completed oil painting, and first study of still life objects (instead of working off a reference photo).
Exhibited in the James S. Murray Gallery for the LLCC Annual Spring Student Show.
Oil on canvas
16” x 16” x ¾"
Triadic color study done using household objects to learn about color theory. I studied the connection between purple, green, and orange, and how to use them to complement one another. It was fun seeing the shadows and highlights of the candle, bear, or other objects reflect upon each other.
Exhibited in the Wild Rose Artisans Gallery for the Springfield Cultural Arts Foundation Magazine Launch.
Oil on canvas paper
12” x 9"
I created this after years of not making my own artwork due to depression. Year-round, March is one of the worst months for me. This painting brings hope, it means something better. The overall painting is dark, but there are pops of color if you look for them (a reminder to look for the light in the dark).
Published in the first edition of the Springfield Cultural Arts Foundation Magazine.
